Data flow, end to end

  1. 1Account admin installs the ClarityLift Zoom Marketplace app at the account level.
  2. 2Admin selects which Team Chat channels to connect.
  3. 3Zoom delivers chat events via webhook.
  4. 4Same DM gate, consent gate, and aggregate-signal path as Slack and Teams.

What ClarityLift does NOT read on Zoom

The privacy posture is led by what is excluded, not what is included.

  • Direct messages between individuals — never read, ever.
  • Group DMs — out of scope by design.
  • Channel content from teams below the 10-member group floor.
  • Personal account content of any kind.
  • Zoom meetings — explicitly out of scope.
  • Zoom meeting recordings — explicitly out of scope.
  • Zoom meeting transcripts and AI-generated summaries — explicitly out of scope.
  • Zoom Phone calls and recordings — explicitly out of scope.
  • Zoom Team Chat 1:1 DMs.

Retention

No message text persisted. Aggregate signals only. Same retention posture as Slack and Teams.

Privacy considerations specific to Zoom

  • Zoom Marketplace requires per-scope justification at app review.
  • ClarityLift deliberately requests only the chat-channel scopes, avoiding meeting and recording scopes that would expose the integration to wiretap-statute scrutiny in two-party-consent states.

What the customer does at install time

  1. 1.Account admin installs the Marketplace app.
  2. 2.Admin selects Team Chat channels to connect.
  3. 3.Admin sets the org-wide consent mode.
